Men’s soccer falls to No. 8-ranked Victoria on home turf

Nationally-ranked Vikes in control from the opening whistle as Heat fall 4-0

Box Score KELOWNA, B.C. – The UBC Okanagan Heat men's soccer team lost 4-0 to the U SPORTS No. 8-ranked Victoria Vikes on Friday night at Nonis Sports Field.
 
The Vikes were in control from the opening whistle, finding the back of the net twice in the opening 15 minutes through Cole Michel of Victoria and an own goal by the Heat.
 
Ole Cameron of Brentwood Bay, B.C., would add a third to give the visitors a 3-0 lead at the half.
 
Victoria would add another goal early in the second half off the foot of Manchand Virk of Pitt Meadows, B.C., as they finished the match outshooting the Heat 14-3.
 
The loss drops the Heat to 2-5-3 on the season as they fall to fifth place in the Pacific division standings. Meanwhile, the Vikes improve to 6-1-3 on the year.
 
UBCO will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host U SPORTS No. 2-ranked UBC Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. at Nonis Sports Field. Tickets to the game are free for all fans.
