Treatment Room
The Head Therapist, Athletic Therapist, and medical support staff work out of a dedicated space located on the lower floor of the gymnasium building. In the Athletic Therapy Room, which is a dedicated, semi-private space for Heat student-athletes, we host many student trainers who volunteer or complete their practicum with us. These trainers observe the athletic therapists as well as assist in aspects of the rehabilitation process, along with having seminars weekly for additional learning of assessment tools. In the treatment room pre- and post-practice/ competition treatment and injury assessment, and rehabilitation occur.
Sports Medicine Clinic
General Practioner and Sports Medicine Physician services are occasionally offered in the Athletic Therapy office, with sign-up through Jeff Thorburn and Kevin Phillips. Dr. Jasinovic is available at the Student Health Clinic (UNC 337) on Wednesdays and Fridays at 250-807-9270. Other physicians and nurse practitioners are also available at the clinic Monday to Friday.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is offered on-site in the treatment room a few times a week. UBCO Heat Athletes can check online for times and sign up for physiotherapy treatment by contacting their Athletic Therapists.
