Box Score KELOWNA, B.C. - The UBC Okanagan Heat men's soccer team got off to a hot start Saturday thanks to a quick strike from Malachi Emerson but it would be downhill for the hosts from there as they fell to the UBC Thunderbirds 4-1 on Saturday evening at Nonis Field.
Emerson, a second-year forward from Surrey, B.C., potted his first career Canada West goal off a well-placed through ball from Heat Captain Aidan Tuck of Russell, Ont., in the sixth minute of play. The goal gave the home squad an early lead but persistent pressure from the visiting side provided the T-Birds with an equalizing goal in the 33rd minute.
UBC would add three more scores in the second half, including a pair by Chilliwack's Victory Shumbusho en route to a three-goal triumph.
