Men's soccer falls in heartbreaker to TRU

Box Score

KELOWNA, B.C. - The UBCO Heat lost in dramatic fashion Saturday afternoon at Nonis Sports Field as Thompson Rivers' James Fraser scored in added time to give the visiting Wolfpack a 2-1 win.

TRU's Mikkel Rosenlund opened the scoring in the 37th minute. The Danish import is off to a strong start for the 'Pack as his tally on Saturday was his second goal in three games this season.

Rosenlund would find the ball off a corner and tuck one behind the Heat keeper Nicholas Reitsma of Kelowna, B.C., to put TRU up a goal.

In the 53rd minute Aaron Mulama would go for a run down the left side and feed Tega Ejumabone of Calgary. Seeing the pitch for the first time in a Canada West match, Ejumabone chipped the ball past TRU's Jackson Gardner of Chilliwack, B.C., for his first career goal to tie the contest

For the second time in as many games, a late goal from the Wolfpack would propel them past the Heat in extra time. This time the game-winning goal came off the foot of fifth-year James Fraser of Penticton, B.C., who found a loose ball at the top of the box.

The two teams will be right back at it on Sunday afternoon as they close out their season series at Nonis Sports Field. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. and the game can be seen live on CanadaWest TV present by Co-op.
