Box Score KELOWNA, B.C. – The UBC Okanagan Heat men's volleyball team defeated the UFV Cascades in three sets on Saturday night at The Furnace to record their first opening weekend sweep since the 2011-12 season.
In a similar fashion to Friday night's game, the Heat took the first two sets 25-16 and 25-19. During the third set, it seemed that the previous night's results would continue to be repeated as the Cascades once again put on the pressure in the third set with the teams trading points back-and-forth. Ultimately, the Heat were able to come out on top, winning the third and final set 25-20 off a pair of back-to-back kills from Noah Carlson and Cameron Vanderveen.

Vanderveen, hailing from Abbotsford, B.C., would also be a key contributor in Saturday night's action as he put up seven kills, four digs, and five blocks for a total of 9.5 points.
