EDMONTON, Alta. – UBCO Heat middle distance runner
Kyle Porter set a pair of UBCO records in the 3000m and 1500m at the Pandas Open this past weekend.
The fourth-year won the men's 3000m race in a time of eight minutes, 39.93 seconds before finishing second in the 1500m in 4:00.29. Both marks were the fastest a Heat runner has run in the distances.

Ella Wigmore also nabbed a top three result at the meet, finishing third in the women's 3000m in 10:18.27.
The Heat also sent runners to the Gary Reed Invitational in Kamloops, competing in the men's and women's 1000m.

Maraid Johnson won the women's race in 3:08.22 while fourth-year
Basil Parkins won the men's race in 2:39.19.
UBCO's teams will now turn their attention to the Canada West Championships set for February 20 and 21 in Saskatoon, Sask.
