Rouble to represent Canada at FISU World University Golf Championship

Heat golf standout to compete next week in Bangkok, Thailand

KELOWNA, B.C. – UBCO men's golfer Andrew Rouble has earned a spot on Team Canada and will compete against some of the world's best at the upcoming 2026 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Golf Championship.

The four-day competition begins on Tuesday, Nov. 10 and wraps up on Friday, Nov. 13 at the Bangkok Golf Club in Bangkok, Thailand.

"Having the opportunity to represent Canada is incredibly special, and being able to travel internationally and compete is a unique experience that I am very grateful for," Rouble said. "Having this opportunity come in my final year makes it even more rewarding, as it reflects the progress I have made in my game over the past four years at UBCO. I think this experience will be a great confidence boost and help me carry some momentum into the spring season as we prepare for the national championship."

Rouble is coming off a strong fall season with the Heat as they captured a silver medal at the Canada West Championships, marking the program's fourth consecutive conference podium finish. At the event, the Wellesley, Ont., product finished at two-over-par 144 to tie for seventh place and earn Canada West Second Team All-Star recognition.

"This is a great opportunity for Andrew," said UBCO men's golf head coach Clay Stothers. "As a graduating senior and captain of our team playing in an international event, it is very exciting to see him represent UBCO on the international stage and what he and Team Canada can accomplish. He'll also be travelling with his father, so beyond golf, this will be a trip that he will remember for the rest of his life."

Joining Rouble on Team Canada are Alexandre Gélinas and Anthony Jomphe from the Montreal Carabins. Jomphe won the individual title at the 2026 Canadian University/College Championship, while Gélinas placed fourth.

Canada delivered a strong showing at the last championship, earning a silver medal behind a team consisting of Jomphe, William Forgues (Laval Rouge et Or), and JP Kahlert (UBC Thunderbirds).
