Women's soccer's win solidifies lead in the race for the President's Cup

First career goal from rookie Eleni Georgcacos leads Heat to victory

Box Score KAMLOOPS, B.C. - The UBC Okanagan Heat women's soccer team earned their second victory over the TRU Wolfpack this season pushing them further ahead in the race for the President's Cup.

The UBCO Heat played a strong defensive game with notable saves from Dieppe, N.B. native Talia Gagnon who added another clean sheet to her resume, her second one against the Wolfpack this year.

The lone goal scored by the Heat this evening was, yet another career-first goal, scored by Calgary, Alta. product Eleni Georgacacos. The first-year midfielder took an open ball opportunity and launched one between the pipes in the 21st minute.

The first-year midfielder led her team to victory tonight being the lone goal scorer of the match and earning her first Canada West career goal.

Cassandra de Amaral - TRU Wolfpack
The third-year U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian had a notable game this evening with a number of stellar stops.

WHERE THEY SIT
This evening's victory was crucial in the fight to clinch a playoff spot. UBCO currently rank third in the Pacific division with 7-3-2 record.

UP NEXT
The Heat are on the road again next weekend starting off on Oct. 13 in Prince George, B.C. facing the UNBC Timberwolves to start off their final weekend of regular season games.
