Box Score KELOWNA, B.C. - Rookie keeper Molly Race led the way for the UBC Okanagan Heat women's soccer team on Sunday afternoon as they Heat earned a 0-0 draw with the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack.
The first-year from Vernon had her best performance in her young career, tallying 12 saves in her first-ever clean sheet.
The Heat were able to hold off a late Wolfpack charge. A penalty kick for TRU's Camry Curts of Courtenay, B.C., would prove unsuccessful as she would fire it over the net in the 87th minute. Three minutes later, Caylah Lemon's (Surrey, B.C.) set-piece from outside the box would hit the crossbar in the 90th.
Rhema Batchondo, hailing from Surrey, B.C., made her first start for the Heat side. She finished the game with three shots, two on target, before checking out of the game in the 69th minute.
The result left the Heat and TRU even in the President's Cup standings after the two teams drew both games on the weekend. Both teams also sit with identical 0-2-2 records through the first four games of the season.
Next on tap for the Heat is a bye week, followed by a trip up north for a date with the UNBC on October 1st.
