KELOWNA, B.C., — The UBCO Heat played the Victoria Vikes to a 0-0 tie on Saturday at Nonis Sports Field. The Heat put eight of their 13 shots on goal and got seven saves as both teams recorded clean sheets.

Kat McCleary recorded seven saves in her season and career debut, playing the full 90 minutes in net and finishing with a clean sheet.
Maria Georgacacos put all three of her shots on goal to lead UBCO in shots on target.
Haden Thomas added three shots, including two on goal.
For the Vikes, Stefanie Mocnik recorded eight saves over 90 minutes and finished with a clean sheet. Scarlett McNeely and Hannah Harper both finished with four shots and two shots on goal, while Abby McDonald added three shots, including two on net.
The Heat held an 8-7 shot edge in the first half and put five attempts on goal, while McCleary made three saves at the other end. The half finished 0-0 after Thomas was close to netting goal as she hit the crossbar in the 45th minute.
In the second half, UBCO put three of its five shots on goal with strong attacking from Georgacacos and Thomas. Victoria had a 4-0 advantage in corners, but McCleary made four saves as the match finished 0-0.
Up next, the Heat host the Trinity Western Spartans on Friday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m at Nonis Sports Field.
