UBCO guard becomes second Heat women’s basketball player to be named a conference all-star

KELOWNA, B.C. – UBCO Heat women's basketball guard Lily Pink was named a Canada West third team all-star on Thursday morning as the conference recognized its three all-star teams and all-rookie team.

The Kelowna native, playing in her second season with the Heat, becomes the second player in team history to earn Canada West all-star honours, joining Jaeli Ibbetson who was a second team all-star in both 2022-23 and 2023-24.

The fourth-year guard was a strong all-around performer for UBCO over the course of the season, helping the team to a 10-10 record to earn the third seed in the Pacific division. She finished in the Top 10 in Canada West for both assists and three-point shooting percentage. Her 76 assists ranked her fifth overall and her 33.3 three-point percentage tied her for ninth among qualified players.

The floor leader on both offence and defence, Pink finished the year with 181 points, good for 9.1 per game, 104 rebounds, 31 steals and 15 blocks. The Okanagan Mission graduate started 19 of the team's 20 games, playing a team-high 521 minutes despite battling a variety of injuries during the season.

With her recognition, Pink becomes the 12th UBCO athlete to be named a Canada West all-star in 2025-26.
