The visitors capitalized on these opportunities, converting 48 percent of their field goals and leading 26-15 at the end of the frame.

The Heat took control in the second quarter with an impressive 34-18 scoring advantage, fuelled by a strong shooting performance from beyond the arc, converting seven of their 10 3-point attempts. Shirley's steady contributions, including a layup with 13 seconds remaining, capped the half with the Heat leading 49-44 at the close.

In the second half, the Heat and the Mariners were evenly matched, each scoring 22 points.
