Men's soccer falls to Dinos on home turf

Heat struggle to contain potent Calgary offence in 6-1 loss

KELOWNA, B.C. - The UBC Okanagan Heat men's soccer team (0-4-1) had a tough time containing the Calgary Dinos (4-2-0) on Friday night as they lost 6-1 at Nonis Sports Field.

Efe Udolu-Joshua opened the scoring just eight minutes into the match for the visitors and would go on to finish the match with a hat-trick, scoring three times in the opening half.

Soliman Aria, Victor Gouttin and Owen Antoniuk all added singles for Calgary who had 22 shots compared to 11 for the Heat.

Oliver Deveau replied for UBCO with the first goal of his Heat career.

Ronan Woodroffe finished with six saves for the Heat, moving into sole possession of tenth place for career saves in Canada West history with 215.

Hany Shafie stopped four shots for Calgary.

Up next, the Heat will look to bounce back when they face the Lethbridge Pronghorns (1-1-3) on Saturday, September 13 at Nonis Sports Field. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
