VICTORIA, B.C. — The UBCO Heat men's basketball team (1-3) lost 95-62 to the U SPORTS No. 1-ranked Victoria Vikes (4-0) on Saturday at CARSA.
Victoria used a big opening quarter, where they outscored UBCO 32-16 to take command of the match and cruise to the win.
Jalen Shirley led the Heat with 13 points and added four rebounds and three assists.
Mike Adarkwah-Nti contributed 10 points, hitting two 3-pointers.
Ariel Tsaiger recorded four rebounds and two steals, while
Mathias Schertzer secured four offensive rebounds and scored five points on perfect shooting.
Renoldo Robinson led Victoria with 18 points, making seven of 11 shots from the field and four of eight from beyond the arc, while also contributing five rebounds and three assists. Ethan Boag added 14 points, including six of seven from the free-throw line, and secured four rebounds.
In their next game, the Heat will face the UFV Cascades on Friday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. The matchup will take place in Abbotsford, B.C., and the game can be seen live on CanadaWest.tv presented by BioSteel.
