KELOWNA, B.C. – The UBC Okanagan Heat women's soccer team picked up a win, a draw and a loss to close out their preseason at Nonis Sports Field this past week.
The Heat opened up their stretch of three games in four days on Wednesday, August 21 against the Alberta Pandas with UBCO coming away with an impressive 3-1 victory.

Alyssa Scott of North Vancouver, B.C., scored a pair of first-half goals for the Heat before
Megan Sun of Langley, B.C., clinched the win with a second-half tally.
Two days later on Friday, August 23, the Heat faced perennial Canada West powerhouse, the MacEwan Griffins, and the two teams played to a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
After falling behind in the opening half, the Heat responded to tie the match thanks to an impressive 25-yard strike from rookie defender Maya Letellier of Calgary.
On Saturday against the Calgary Dinos, UBCO dressed a largely rookie lineup as they lost a 4-0 decision.
The Heat will now turn their attention towards their 2024 regular season home opener as they get set to face the Thompson Rivers WolfPack at Nonis Sports Field on Friday, August 30. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. and tickets to the game are free for all fans.
