The second set of the night was when the Heat gained their momentum. Weststrate, the second-year middle from Kelowna. B.C., played an impressive match tonight, heavily contributing to his team taking two sets off the Bisons putting down seven kills, 12.5 points and ten blocks.
The third set was a marathon for both teams as it went the distance and then some. However, the Heat prevailed in the end 31-29 with a notable kill from second-year Seba Manuel of Kelowna, B.C., highlighting the team's efforts.
Manitoba would not go away quietly and forced a fifth and deciding set. With both teams looking for the edge in the final frame, the Bisons went on a mini run midway through the fifth set to eventually claim the victory.
