EDMONTON - A 28-0 run by the No. 10 Alberta Pandas helped them overcome a large second-quarter deficit as the UBC Okanagan Heat women's basketball team fell 79-64 Saturday on the road.
It was all UBCO early as the visiting Heat forced 11 turnovers leading to 15 points in the first quarter alone. The tides turned midway through the second frame. Leading by 12, the Heat went scoreless over a 10-minute stretch of play into the third quarter to find themselves down 16.
The run would be more than enough to give the hosts their second consecutive win over UBCO.
