LANGLEY, B.C. - The Trinity Western Spartans put together a strong fourth quarter to top the UBC Okanagan Heat women's basketball team 91-72 on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre.
Going toe-to-toe for most of the match, Trinity would make 11-of-12 shots from the field in the final frame of Friday's match, outscoring UBCO 27-12 in the fourth.
The Spartans got big nights from Nicole Fransson (Edmonton), Jayden Gill (Abbotsford, B.C.) and Shemaiah Abatayo (Vancouver) with all three finishing with 19-plus points.
For the Heat,
Jaeli Ibbetson (Kelowna, B.C.) had a team-high 17 points with eight rebounds, while
Melaina Corrado (Kelowna, B.C.) had a career-high 10 points, making both her three point attempts.
It was the fourth-straight matchup between the two schools with Trinity Western shooting 49 percent or better from the floor.

Rachel Hare - UBCO
The guard chipped in nine points off 57 percent shooting, while adding five rebounds and three assists in the loss.
Semaiah Abatayo - Trinity Western
The second-year was averaging just six points per game coming into the match, but made five of her first six attempts from beyond the arc en route to a career-high 19 points.
WHERE THEY SIT
The loss drops UBCO below .500 for the first time all season, sitting at 7-8. The Spartans win sees them improve to 11-4.
