Men's basketball suffers second straight defeat to Dinos

The Heat started strong but couldn't maintain their efforts against a tough Calgary team as they fell 90-61 on Saturday

CALGARY - The UBC Okanagan Heat men's basketball team suffered their second consecutive defeat to the Calgary Dinos on Saturday, dropping a 90-61 decision.

The Heat started the game strong and led 19-16 after the opening quarter. However, it was all Dinos from that point on as they outscored UBCO 50-18 over the second and third quarters to cruise to the victory.

KEY PLAYERS
Hafith Moallin - UBCO

The fourth-year scored 10 points on Saturday while securing five boards. The Mississauga, Ont. native was also tenacious on the defensive side of the ball, snagging five steals in 27 minutes.

Aidan Smith - Calgary
The second-year guard from Cochrane, Alta., dropped 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the Dinos' second-straight win to open their season.

WHERE THEY SIT
The Heat stay winless at 0-2 to start the season while the Dinos rise to 2-0.

UP NEXT
The Heat make their way back home and hit the court next on November 12 against the Brandon Bobcats for their home opener. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. with tickets available at the door on game day.
