Taylor McRae helped lead the softball team from both the plate and the circle as the Heat finished with a 4-1 record over the weekend in Calgary. In seven at-bats, the Vancouver, Wash., native recorded six hits for an outstanding .857 batting average. Her home run against the Saskatchewan Huskies helped give the Heat a 9-3 lead en route to a 10-3 win. McRae finished the weekend with five runs batted in (RBI), three runs scored, and one walk. In a combined four innings in two appearances against the Lethbridge Pronghorns and Mount Royal Cougars, the fifth-year pitcher allowed just one earned run over 4.1 innings while striking out two batters, posting a 1.75 earned run average (ERA).
