Appearing in her first two games as a pitcher for the Heat, Jayda Labonte was a strikeout machine, finishing the weekend with a total of 12 over 4.2 innings of work. In the 13-5 win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Saturday, the first-year arts major surrendered just one hit to the nine batters she faced across 2.2 innings. Labonte then pitched in the 7-5 victory over the Mount Royal Cougars, striking out six of the 13 hitters that came up to the plate in a strong two-inning appearance.
