Will Armitage made an instant impact in his first game as a member of the Heat, scoring the team’s first goal of the year in the home opener against the Trinity Western Spartans on Thursday. The rookie forward put UBCO up early in the 29th minute and finished the match with two shots on goal in 90 minutes of play. In the Heat’s next contest on Saturday against the visiting Victoria Vikes, Armitage made his second consecutive start as played 75 minutes in the contest as a key midfielder.
