Manuel played a crucial role as the Heat extended their winning streak to six games this past weekend, and in the process took over top spot in the conference standings. On Friday night in a hard-fought five-set win, Manuel delivered 12 kills, including a crucial kill with his team trailing late in the fourth set that turned the tide for his team, leading to the five-set win. He also added a season-best 10 digs and three blocks. Manuel would follow that up with an 11-kill effort on Saturday, moving into second place in the conference for total kills with 136, as the Heat won in straight sets.
This marks the third time this season, and third time in his career, that she’s been named an Athlete of the Week.
