Men’s Volleyball Thys Weststrate takes home Athlete of the Week honours powered by Meal Prep for You, for the week ending on January 19th.

Weststrate continued his outstanding season with another dominant performance in the middle this weekend against the nationally-ranked Bisons. The conference leader in hitting percentage was efficient as usual in the Heat's opener on Friday, recording 6 kills on 9 attempts to eclipse a .500 hitting percentage for the 3rd time this season. He then followed it up with arguably the best game of his career, recording 14 kills on 16 attacks to post a new career-high for kills in a match and help the Heat upset the Bisons in four sets. His .813 hitting percentage is also the 3rd highest in a match in team history and he now owns 2 of the Top 3 positions in the category in school history.

This is the first time this season and third in his career that Weststrate has been named Athlete of the Week.
