PERSONAL: Katie has been selected for Team BC 20U Women's team along with four teammates (Kaitlynn Given, Katy Klomps, Emily Oxland, Brianna Beamish) that will participate in the 2013 Canada Games ...she is currently enrolled in the Arts program ... she trained with 16U Team BC in Kelowna as a high school student ... Katie played with current Heat teammate Brianna Beamish on the Team BC U19 squad at the National Team Challenge Cup Tournament, July 2012, in Winnipeg ... Katie played with a number of current Heat teammates before joining the team; she played with Emily Oxland previously, and on Team BC she played with Brianna Beamish, Kailin Jones and Chandler Proch ... Katie won a gold medal with Team BC when she was 18, and also placed 3rd at the 18U Canada Open with the BCO Elite team ... she took 3rd place at the 16U Canada West Open with the BCO U16 team, and also was named the Canada West Open Tournament All-Star.
CAPILANO 2011-12: Played on the Capilano team that finished third in the province in her freshman year....
UBC OKANAGAN 2012-13: Played all 22 possible Canada West matches for the Heat ... put up a season high 11 kills against Calgary (Jan 16) and Winnipeg (Feb 2) respectively ... was third on the team in kills with 118 and second in total blocks at 57.
