PERSONAL: A graduate of Oak Bay highschool in Victoria, Lars topped the annual list of The Province’s “Best of B.C. Senior Boys Super 15 Class of 2013,” making him the 2012 Player of the Year. The sought after recruit had back-to-back Provincial Championship MVP awards and championship trophies in 2011 and 2012 for Oak Bay. Having being named a USPORTS Academic-All Canadian every season at UBCO, Lars impresses both on the court and in the classroom.
UBC OKANAGAN 2013-14 (1ST YEAR)
- Was named a USPORS Academic All-Canadian in his rookie season
- Voted the Men's Volleyball team Rookie of the Year and was named to the Canada West All-Rookie team
- Totalled 148 kills which ranked second on the team, 14 service aces and 127 digs
- Closed out the season strong setting at the time a new career high 14 kills against Regina in the closing weekend
UBC OKANAGAN 2014-15 (2ND YEAR)
- Finished second on the team with 209 kills and 245 points, along with 92 digs and a team-high 15 services aces
- Was named a USPORS Academic All-Canadian
- Was a finalist for the UBC Okanagan Male Provost Award for Excellence
UBC OKANAGAN 2015-16 (3RD YEAR)
- 7th in the USPORTS in Total Attack Attempts, 10th in the Canada West in Kills and points. Team high of 327 points, 282 kills, and 17 aces.
- Won the UBC Okanagan Student Athlete of the Year award with a first class GPA
- Was named a USPORTS Academic All-Canadian
- Was a finalist for the UBC Okanagan Male Provost Award for Excellence for a second straight year
UBC OKANAGAN 2016-17 (4TH YEAR)
- Was the recipient of the UBC Okanagan Student Athlete of the Year award for the second consecutive year
- Led the men's volleyball team in kills with 290 (10th in Canada West), and service aces with 22
- Reached double digits kills in 15 of the 24 matches and was one of only three members of the team to play in every match
- Was named an Academic All-Canadian for the fourth straight season
- Was a finalist for the UBC Okanagan Male Provost Award for Excellence for a third consecutive year
UBC OKANAGAN 2017-18 (5TH YEAR)
- Won the UBC Okanagan Student Athlete of the Year award for the third straight year
- Was named the UBC Okanagan Male Graduating Player of the Year
- Winner of the Male Provost Award for Excellence (two semester)
- Broke the UBC Okanagan school record for kills in a career on February 16th with 1260 passing Nate Speijer
- Recipient of the Heat Scholar Athlete Award
- Finished second in the conference in kills per set (4.08) and third in total kills (339).
- Led the team with 20 service aces and also had 139 digs during his senior campaign
