Biography

PERSONAL: Walde played for the Victoria Highlanders in the PCSL Men's Reserve League Division 2 before joining the Heat, and has led the team as captain on two occasions. Walde’s composure, confidence, and organizational skills allows him to dominate the backline and push forward to produce results in front of the net. While competing at the senior level for  three consecutive years at Gulf Islands Secondary School, Walde and team qualified for provincials every year, and produced some of the best finishes in the history of Gulf Island. Prior to that, Walde played for the U15 Whitecaps Residency team in Burnaby

UBC OKANAGAN 2015-16 (1ST YEAR)

  • Played in eight games recording two shots on target in five attempts.

UBC OKANAGAN 2016-17 (2ND YEAR)

  • Started in 11 conference matches totalling one shot on target.

UBC OKANAGAN 2017-18 (3RD YEAR)

  • Was named a Canada West first team All-Star.
  • Walde played and started in all 15 Canada West matches.
  • Led the team with four goals on the season including a last-second goal to beat Victoria on Sep.3rd.

UBC OKANAGAN 2018-19 (4TH YEAR)

  • Scored three goals in his fourth season which fell one shy of his career-high.
  • Started 14 matches at the back and was one of the cornerstones to the Heat defense. 

UBC OKANAGAN 2019-20 (5TH YEAR)

  • The defender was named a Canada West first team All-Star for the second time in his career following 15 starts on the back line.
  • He was name the UBC Okanagan Male Outstanding Athlete of the Year and was also a finalist for Male Graduating Player of the Year.
