Biography

PERSONAL: A Kelowna Secondary School graduate, Taylor-parks was a part of the Junior Heat before joining the varsity team. In the spring of 2017 she was named the Volleyball BC award of excellence athlete of the year for 2016-2017. She was also ranked the fourth best player in BC by the province. The science student has university level volleyball in her blood as her older brother Sam plays for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men's team. In her senior year at KSS Taylor-Parks was named a AAAA Provincial All Star, in Grade 11 she was a U17 club provincial All Star while winning a bronze medal with the Junior Heat. In grade 10 Taylor-Parks was a a junior high school Provincial All-Star when her team finished with the bronze medal, as did her Junior Heat Club team. In 2015 and 2016 she was also a part of Team BC.

UBC OKANAGAN 2017-18 (1ST YEAR)

  • Played in 10 matches in her rookie season for the Heat.
  • Got her first career kill on Nov.11th in a three set win.
  • Was a finalist for the UBC Okanagan Female Rookie of the Year.
  • Named an Academic All-Canadian.

UBC OKANAGAN 2018-19 (2ND YEAR)

  • Started in 23 of 24 Canada West matches and finished with a career-high 60 kills during the season.
  • Had 50 total blocks along with 42 digs in her sophomore campaign.
  • Was named a U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian for the second conescutive season.

UBC OKANAGAN 2019-20 (3RD YEAR)

  • The middle ranked second on the team in total blocks with 65, and also picked up a career-high 77 kills in her junior season with the Heat.
  • Taylor-Parks would pick up at least 20 service aces as well for the second consecutive season.
