Biography

PERSONAL: Bandy’s soccer resume includes a spring with Team BC as she was on the BC soccer provincial team in 2014. The versatile midfielder, who has played centre-mid and on both the right and left sides in both defensive and attacking roles so far in her career, played in the Portland Timbers Cup with Team BC and tallied a pair of assists. Previously Maya a part of Vernon United (2009-2012) and the Whitecaps School Academy (Grades 8-10). The Vernon native grew up aspiring to play for the Heat varsity team.

UBC OKANAGAN 2016-17 (1ST YEAR)

  • tied for second on the team with 2 goals on the season.
  • tied for the most starts by a rookie (7).
  • Scored both goals in back-to-back games against Calgary and UNBC on September 11th and 17th.
  • Played in 13 games in her rookie season.
  • Finalist for UBC Okanagan Female Rookie of the Year.
  • U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian.

UBC OKANAGAN 2017-18 (2ND YEAR)

  • Played in every conference match including 10 starts.
  • Had two shots on target on three attempts for the season.
  • Was honoured as an Academic All-Canadian for the second consecutive year.

UBC OKANAGAN 2018-19 (3RD YEAR)

  • Was a finalist for the UBC Okanagan Female Athlete of the Year.
  • Started in all 14 Canada West matches and was named game MVP on four separate occasions.
  • Named an Academic All-Canadian for the third year in a row

UBC OKANAGAN 2019-20 (4TH YEAR)

  • Started 12 Canada West matches and racked up four shots on goal in a terrific senior campaign.
