HEAT THIS WEEK: Golf teams head back to Nevada to compete at Las Vegas Warrior Invitational

Men's and women's golf will head to Legacy Golf Club for the NCAA Division II event

KELOWNA, B.C. - With their spring season now in full swing, the Heat golf teams will tee it up in Nevada once again this week as they are set to compete at the Las Vegas Warrior Invitational at Legacy Golf Club, an NCAA Division II tournament hosted by Winona State University.

The Heat golf teams head to another Nevada tournament this week, traveling to Legacy Golf Club in Henderson for the Las Vegas Warrior Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Heat men competing in this tournament will be Andrew Rouble, Ryan Vest, Chris Jo, Oakley Mayner, and Ryan Gillis. Meanwhile, the women's side will be represented by Julia Alexander-Carew, Lauren Nedo, Bess Chan, Shinyao Zhang, and Symone Ripley.

Last week, the teams competed at the RMC Intercollegiate at Lake Las Vegas, an NAIA event in Nevada, where both teams captured gold medals. Alexander-Carew led the women's side, finishing at two-under-par 214 over three rounds to claim her eighth individual championship and help add another tournament victory to the team's season. She also captured the individual title at the Warrior Invitational last year, the same event she will play in this week.

On the men's side, Vest led the way for UBCO at the RMC Intercollegiate as he finished tied for fourth at even-par 216 over three rounds, recording a total of 14 birdies and finishing just three shots off the lead. His play, along with the consistency of his teammates, helped UBCO win their third team title of the season.
