Honouring Lucia Boersma: Support Student-Athletes at UBCO

Fundraising for the Lucia Boersma Student-Athlete Award is now open with the goal of raising $50,000 to establish an endowment

For 26 years, Lucia Boersma has been a constant presence at UBC Okanagan Athletics and Recreation, supporting student-athletes with care, dedication and a deep commitment to their success. As Assistant to the Director of Athletics & Recreation, Lucia has played a vital role in shaping a positive and enriching experience for athletes, always putting students first. 

Now, colleagues, alumni and community members are coming together to celebrate her impact by establishing the Lucia Boersma Student-Athlete Award. This award will carry Lucia's legacy forward by providing direct support to student-athletes while honouring the pride and care she brought to her work every day. 

It is our wish to raise $50,000 to establish an endowment in Lucia's honour. By helping us reach our goal of $25,000, you will unlock an additional $25,000 in matching funds and help create an endowed award that will support student-athletes for years to come.
