Two athletes will be representing the Heat at this year's conference championships. From the men's side, fourth-year Kyle Porter, and on the women's, fourth-year Ella Wigmore, who will both compete in the 1500m and 3000m events. The 3000m races are set to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday while the 1500m races will go on Saturday starting at 2:50 p.m.

Both athletes have had a strong year on the Canada West track events circuit. At Pandas Open two weekends ago, Porter won the 3000m and was second in the 1500m, posting two program-record times in the distances. Meanwhile, Wigmore earned a third-place finish in the 3000m and a ninth-place finish in the 1500m.

For Porter, this will mark his second time competing at the Canada West Championships while Wigmore will be making her debut.
