Outside hitter caps off impressive first season with the Heat by becoming fourth member of the program to be honoured as a U SPORTS All-Rookie

WINNIPEG - UBC Okanagan Heat women's volleyball outside hitter Olivia Boulding capped off her fantastic rookie season with the Heat on Thursday evening as she was recognized as a member of the U SPORTS All-Rookie team at the 2025 U SPORTS All-Canadian banquet.

Boulding, a native of Victoria, was among the best players in Canada West all season. She finished 11th overall in kills per set at 3.09 and 12th in total kills at 210. Nationally, she was firmly inside the Top 30 in each statistical category for players across Canada.

Over the course of the season, Boulding showcased herself as one of the top attacking players not only on the Heat but in the entire conference. She finished the year with 10 or more kills in 10 of her 19 matches that she appeared in, earning UBCO Athlete of the Week honours on two occasions and Canada West Athlete of the Week honours once.

Her best performance came in a four-set match against the Manitoba Bisons in January where she posted 25 kills, setting a new team-record for most kills in a four-set match and the second-most kills in a game in Heat history.

In total for her season, in addition to her kills per set and total kills numbers, Boulding recorded 248.5 points, 3.7 points per set, 148 digs, 24 blocks and 25 aces over 19 matches.

Thanks to her outstanding performance, Boulding becomes the fourth member of the Heat to be named to the national all-rookie squad, joining Madelyn Hettinga (2021-22), Amaya Perry (2019-20) and Emily Oxland (2012-13).
