Women’s cross country ranked 10th by U SPORTS

Heat enter U SPORTS Top 10 for the first time this season after third-place finish at Western Canadian Challenge

KELOWNA, B.C. – The UBCO Heat women's cross country team is once again ranked among the best in Canada as they sit 10th in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 that was announced on Tuesday morning.
 
The Heat, who finished last season ranked eighth, joined the Top 10 for the first time this season after finishing third in the team standings at the Western Canadian Challenge in Calgary on Saturday.
 
Lauren McNeil led the way for UBCO as she won the race in a time of 27 minutes and 33 seconds and she was joined in the top 10 finishers by teammate Tori Bouck and Sophie Hamilton. Bouck finished fifth in a time of 29:30 while Hamilton was ninth in 29:42.
 
The Heat's next race will come in two weekends time when they compete in the BC Club Championships at the DND Grounds in Vernon on Saturday, October 18.
