Men's volleyball is back home this weekend, returning to The Furnace for their home opener against the U SPORTS No. 2-ranked Alberta Golden Bears.

UBCO enters the weekend undefeated after going 2-0 to start the season. The Heat swept the Manitoba Bisons, winning their first two road games in a regular season since joining Canada West. The team will look to Zach Van Geel to lead the charge after he recorded 41 assists and three kills last Saturday, driving the team's offence. Seba Manuel also delivered a strong performance with 17 kills and three block assists, finishing with 19.5 points.

The Heat will look to keep their undefeated streak alive on home court this weekend as they face one of the conference's top teams.

Women's volleyball is back home this weekend for a doubleheader against the U SPORTS No. 1-ranked Alberta Pandas.

History has been tight between these two teams, with an even 11-11 conference record. If the Heat can take a win off the top-ranked Pandas, it would be a huge statement early in the season.

Last weekend, the Heat split their series against Regina, bouncing back from a Friday loss with a 3-1 win on Saturday. On her career night, third-year middle Maria Josipovic recorded 12 kills to lead the Heat to the four-set victory and secure the weekend split against the Cougars.

Women's basketball hits the road as they travel to Vikes territory for a doubleheader weekend.

The Heat enter the weekend riding the momentum of an explosive start to the season, following a home sweep in their first two games last week. Their defence was a key factor, forcing 20 turnovers and holding the Timberwolves without a field goal in the first quarter of Sunday's 88-48 victory over UNBC.

Tsuki Tsuzuki and Kanani Coon led the team's efforts both days, and the team will look to them to continue their strong play this weekend. The team took a win over the Vikes last season, defeating them 97-68 in February, and will aim to add another victory to their record this weekend.

Men's basketball faces a tough challenge this weekend as they take on the U SPORTS No. 1-ranked Victoria Vikes on the road in a doubleheader in Victoria.

Last weekend, UBCO split their games, earning a hard-fought win on Sunday against UNBC for their first victory of the regular season. Jalen Shirley led the team in scoring both days, sinking in 27 points on Sunday while converting 11 of 19 shots and four three-pointers. The Heat will look to Shirley to lead the charge once again in what promises to be a very competitive matchup against the top-ranked team.

Men's & Women's Golf
November 3rd-5th at Firestorm Fall Invitational - Buckeye, Ariz.

Both golf teams will conclude their fall seasons from November 3-5 as they travel to Arizona for the NAIA Firestorm Fall Invite, hosted by Arizona Christian University at the picturesque Verrado Golf Club.

Last weekend, the Heat men made history at the Canada West Championships, successfully defending their title and capturing their second consecutive conference gold. The men staged a remarkable comeback, erasing a three-shot deficit to edge out UBC. Starting the day at 10-under par, with two eagles, 21 birdies, and just six bogeys, they posted a second round total of 19-under-par 269, the lowest single-round score in UBCO program history. UBCO finished the tournament at 29-under par (547), two shots ahead of the UBC Thunderbirds (549).

Meanwhile, the Heat women came close to capturing their first Canada West Championship, finishing just behind the UBC Thunderbirds to win their third straight silver medal. The team combined to shoot one-under par 431 and were led by an individual silver medal finish by Julia Alexander-Carew
