KAMLOOPS, B.C. – The UBCO Heat women's soccer team (6-5-3) wrapped up their regular season schedule with a 0-0 draw with the Thompson Rivers WolfPack (5-8-1) on Sunday afternoon.
With their place in the playoffs already secured, the Heat were content to play a low-event game with the rival WolfPack as the two teams combined for just 11 total shot attempts in the match.
Rookie forward
Maria Georgacacos led the offence for UBCO, registering three shots in the game, including one on goal. The WolfPack's Esi Lufo paced the WolfPack attack with three shots, including two on goal.
Heat keeper
Allyson Ford earned her third clean sheet of the season, turning aside all four shots she faced and finishes the year with a record of 1-2-2.
Makayla Kusch finished with three saves for Thompson Rivers.
UBCO, the third seed in the Pacific division, will now turn their preparations towards their Canada West quarter-final matchup as they will take on the Mount Royal Cougars in Calgary. The Cougars (10-3-1) earned the second seed in the Prairie division with a 1-0 win over top seed Calgary on Sunday.
The showdown between the Heat and Cougars is set for Saturday, September 25 at 12 p.m. Pacific and will be hosted at MRU Field #2.
