Playing on UBCO's Homecoming weekend, the Heat battled hard in front of a sizeable crowd to open the match. However, the visitors would break through 25 minutes in when Calgary product Nikolas Myroniuk, found the back of the net to put the Cougars up by one after 45 minutes.

UBCO looked to battle back to start the second half but two quick-strike goals from the Cougars put any hope of a comeback out of reach.
