KELOWNA, B.C. – UBC Okanagan Heat women's volleyball head coach Steve Manuel has added another talented recruit to his roster for next season as libero Ava Dahl will suit up for the blue and gold this Fall.
Dahl, a native of Victoria, B.C., becomes the third recruit in Coach Manuel's 2023-24 recruiting class, joining middle Marija Josipovic and outside hitter Korey Jenkins.
"We are excited to welcome Ava to the program," commented Manuel on his latest addition. "She has grown up in the gym, and brings a wealth of volleyball knowledge to the court. Ava will bring depth to our libero position and will also be a great addition to our overall team dynamic."
The 5-5 libero brings an outstanding resume to the Heat after her time playing at Oak Bay High School as well as with Momentum Volley. In 2022, Dahl helped her club team win the 18U provincial championship and was also named a Senior Girls Island Championship all-star while playing with her high school squad.
In addition, Dahl is three-time regional program member with BC Volleyball.
"I chose to join the Heat because of the excellent coaching staff and team environment," said Dahl of her commitment. "They are a group of hard-working dedicated athletes that genuinely enjoy their time together on the court. I am excited to enhance my growth as a student-athlete and contribute to the team in the years to come."
Dahl will be studying in the Bachelor of Health and Exercise Science program while at UBCO.
