Men's volleyball topped in Saskatchewan

Heat suffer their fourth straight setback following weekend sweep at hands of Huskies

SASKATOON, Sask. - The UBC Okanagan Heat men's volleyball team were beaten in straight sets on Saturday (25-19, 25-20, 25-18) as the Saskatchewan Huskies completed the weekend sweep.

The Huskies took the match in three sets, off the back of Dylan Mortensen's (Swift Current, Sask.) 16 kills and Levi Olsen's (Saskatoon, Sask.) five service aces as the duo of fifth-year seniors combined for 33 of their team's 48 points.

For the Heat, Renn Petryk, a native of Edmonton, had a team-high eight kills while Seba Manuel, of Kelowna, B.C. chipped in with five of his own.

The Huskies, who rank fourth in the conference in hitting percentage, finished the game at .329 percent while UBCO hit .188 percent.

TOP PERFORMERS
Renn Petryk - UBCO 
Petryk, UBCO's kills leader this season, recorded eight kills on 17 attacks in the loss, adding one block and four digs.

Dylan Mortensen - Saskatchewan
The 6-8 hitter and former U SPORTS Rookie of the Year had 30 kills over the sweep of the Heat including 16 in the match. He hit a near-perfect .800 percent off 20 attacks adding two aces and five digs.

WHERE THEY SIT
The Heat's fourth straight loss after their sweep of TRU see them fall to 4-8 on the year, sitting in 11th in the conference. The Huskies win their fourth in their last five, improving to 8-4.
