UBC Okanagan Captures Lead Early to Defeat University of Regina

University of Regina fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-0 loss to UBC Okanagan on Saturday. University of BC Okanagan scored on a double by Janessa Hanson and a single by Anna Rudetsky in the first inning. The University of Regina struggled to contain the high-powered offense of UBC Okanagan, giving up seven runs. UBC Okanagan got on the board in the first inning when Hanson doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. A single by Kat Bear in the first inning was a positive for University of ReginaJessica Podskalny pitched UBC Okanagan to victory. The hurler lasted two innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero. Rudetsky threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Tori Stelmachowich took the loss for University of ReginaStelmachowich went seven innings, allowing seven runs on 11 hits and striking out four. Mikaela Janzen started the game for UBC Okanagan.
