Box Score KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Madelyn Hettinga's best performance of her young career with the UBC Okangan Heat women's volleyball team propelled the visiting side to a four-set victory over the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack Saturday at the Tournament Capital Centre.
The Heat capped off the weekend sweep coming out on top 25-17, 25-27, 25-21, 25-20.
Hettinga, a rookie hitter from Kelowna, B.C., put up a career-high 13 kills on an incredibly efficient .765 hitting percentage. She also chipped in three blocks, five digs and three aces in the win.
Amaya Perry, of Chin, Alta., would lead the Heat with a game-high 16 kills on 34 attacks, helping the Heat stay undefeated through four games this season.
The second set would need extra points to settle as TRU came out on top 27-25. The set win was the young squad's first of the season. Erin Mutch of Victoria, was the Wolfpack's top performer as she recorded a team-high 10 kills and a pair of aces.
Anastasiia Muzyka, a fourth-year setter from Edmonton, had a season-best 31 assists for TRU.
Sara McCreary, UBCO's setter, also hit her season's best with 41 helpers. The Edmonton product is in her fifth season with the Heat squad, who have won all but two sets this year.
UBCO hit .313 in the matchup compared to TRU's .252.
The win improves the Heat's record to 4-0, while the 'Pack fall to 0-4. The weekend sweep helps UBCO pull ahead 3-0-2 in the annual President's Cup competition between the rival schools.
Next up for the Heat is a tough matchup against the UBC Thunderbirds, at home, on December 3rd and 4th. Tickets will be available 30 minutes before match start times.
