2019 Graduation
Over the past two days, in a 'dressed up' UBCO gym, 1,725 students were rewarded for their hard work over the past few years with a year-end graduation celebration at UBC Okanagan on Thursday and Friday, June 6-7, 2019.
The graduating students were conferred with their 'class of 2019' UBC degrees.
This year, 22 members of a 2018-19 Heat team either walked the stage in one of the six convocation ceremonies or graduated from UBC.
Sadly, some were unable to attend the celebration but had applied with enough credits to graduate.
For a large number of student-athletes, they choose to finish their degree and their playing career at different times, as an additional 27 former Heat athletes also wrapped up their UBC degrees.
Two former women's soccer players, Madeleine Greig and Tess Perry, earned Master's degrees while a former men's volleyball assistant coach, Luca Ruggerio, completed his doctorate this year.
