Avery Lamb wasted little time making an impact in her first Western Collegiate Softball Association (WCSA) Championship appearance, driving in the game-winning run with a walk-off single in the extra eighth inning of UBCO's 4-3 tournament-opening victory over the Regina Cougars. The local Kelowna product also earned a double in the contest to finish 2-for-2 on the day with two runs batted in (RBI). Lamb provided a steady presence in the middle infield for the UBCO Heat all weekend in Calgary as they claimed a silver medal, the program’s sixth consecutive conference medal.
