Playing her final weekend of regular season home games, fifth-year senior Natalie Funk put together some of the best volleyball of her career as the Heat picked up two crucial points in the standings after taking No. 9 Trinity Western to five sets in back-to-back nights.
The middle-turned-outside hitter registered a career-high 20 kills to open the weekend, while hitting a sparkling .362 percent, adding 11 digs, three aces and a block for a career-best 24 points in five sets. She followed that up with another great performance on Saturday night, highlighted by 16 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and an ace for 19 points.
Thanks to her performance, Funk has now recorded single-season career-highs for kills (159) and digs (133) with four games remaining in the regular season, and helped move her team to the top of a five-way tie for ninth place in the push for the final playoff spots in the conference.
