Kanani Coon led the Heat to a weekend split with the Mount Royal Cougars thanks to a big performance on Friday night.
The third-year guard recorded the first double-double of her Heat career, pouring in a game-high 17 points while pulling down 11 rebounds. She was particularly strong in the third quarter when the Heat pulled away from the Cougars, pouring in nine of UBCO's 18 points in the frame. In totaly 16 of her 17 points came in the second half to lead the Heat to a nine-point victory.
After averaging 14.5 points per game this weekend, the Heat's leading scorer moved inside the Top 20 in the conference, now averaging 12.8 points per game.

This marks the first time this season, and first time in her career, that Kanani has been named an Athlete of the Week.
