Clay Stothers

Stothers began his coaching duties in May of 2019, and is the sixth head coach in Heat golf program’s history.

Since taking over the head coaching duties, Stothers has helped to transform the Heat into one of the top programs in the country. The UBCO women's team has medalled at three consecutive Canada West Championships (2 silver and 1 bronze) as well as at three consecutive Golf Canada Canadian University/College Championships (2 bronze and 1 silver). Additionally, the Heat men's team won their first Canada West medal in 2023 with a silver medal performance and have qualified for back-to-back Canadian University/College Championships, earning a program-best sixth place showing in 2024.

Stothers has coached his athletes to two individual titles at the Canada West Championship (Justin Towill - 2023 & 2022) while two of his golfers have earned All-Canadian honours at the national championship (Andrew Rouble - 2023; Julia Alexander-Carew - 2024). 

Stothers is the Director of Instruction at The Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna British Columbia Canada.

He is also a Class-A Member of the Canadian Professional Golfers Association and has been Teaching Certified since 2003.
