Jen Woods Jen Woods

Women's Golf,
UBC Okanagan Heat

Jen Woods was born and raised in Kelowna, and she graduated from Rutland Senior Secondary in 2008. She was an active student athlete who was very involved with both school and community activities in Kelowna. She was recognised for her commitment in competing for the following high school teams: golf, soccer, field hockey, cross-country, and basketball. Upon graduating from RSS, Jen continued to support her hometown roots and helped coach the golf team at RSS.

Woods is enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts program in the fourth-year Health Studies discipline. She is expecting to graduate in April 2013 and continue to pursue a career in Medicine.

This was Woods’ fourth year competing for the UBC Okanagan golf team and she finished this season with a Provincial silver medal and a Provincial Tournament All-Star award. Last season she was named BCCAA Female Golfer of the Year. Despite her 5’3” stature, Woods has remarkable abilities as a long hitter. Dedicated to pursuing a UBC education, Woods says enjoying her passion for golf and having the opportunity to represent the University have been her favourite experience while attending UBC's Okanagan campus. Woods enjoys playing golf because of competitors' sportsmanship, the focus required for the game, and the valuable lessons learned from playing this sport.
