Last weekend the Heat split the weekend against the nationally ranked Manitoba Bisons. On Friday the Heat fell 3-0 to the Bisons but used that as fuel to seek revenge on Saturday night clinching a four-set victory. Thys Weststrate, a veteran middle, recorded a career-high 14 kills while hitting a .813 leading his team to victory.

The men's basketball team continues their road stretch this week, with stops in Langley and Victoria where they'll face the Trinity Western Spartans and the U SPORTS No. 1-ranked Victoria Vikes.

Last weekend, the Heat split their series against Alberta. Guard Jalen Shirley delivered in the clutch by sinking a game-winning three-pointer to secure the Heat's 69-68 victory in the opening match-up on Friday night, marking the program's first-ever win against the Golden Bears. Shirley enters play this weekend 40 points shy of 1000 for his Heat career and if he hits the mark, he'll become the third player in team history to hit the milestone in Canada West play.

Women's basketball looks to return to the win column in their push for a playoff spot as they face the Trinity Western Spartans and the Victoria Vikes.

During the second match-up of last weekend's doubleheader in Alberta against the Pandas, Lauren Foullong hit a major milestone, surpassing 100 career three-pointers, despite the team's loss to the USPORTS No. 8-ranked Panas. In their opening game, Kelsey Falk recorded a season-high of four steals in a game, adding to her 2024-25 run of strong defensive play.
