The Heat men's soccer team look to extend their four-game point streak as they face off against the Alberta Golden Bears on Friday (3-0-1) and the Calgary Dinos on Sunday (2-1-2).

Rookie midfielder Spencer Mellett, a product of Coquitlam, B.C., was a force to be reckoned with last weekend as he scored his first career goal on Friday night helping his team capture three points in a 1-0 win over the Timberwolves. He would tally again on Saturday against the same Timberwolves squad as his team extended their point streak to four when he capitalized on an unguarded net from the top of the box to finish the weekend with a draw against the Timberwolves.

The Heat men start this weekend off hunting for a program-first victory against U SPORTS No. 10-ranked Golden Bears who are also coming off a four-point weekend. They will follow up that match by taking on the Calgary Dinos on home turf for the first time since 2016.

This weekend, women's soccer is travelling to the lower mainland on Friday to face the UBC Thunderbirds (2-0-0) then head up north into UNBC Timberwolves (0-2-0) territory on Sunday.

Last weekend, forward-turned-defender Sophie Campbell from Surrey, B.C., was a dominant force on the back line Friday night helping her team keep the Cascades from firing any shots on target in their 2-0 victory. As well, Campbell was crucial in limiting any offensive efforts from the visiting TWU Spartans on Saturday night.

This Friday, the Heat are set to seek out their first-ever victory against the U SPORTS No. 1-ranked Thunderbirds. UBCO has had much better success as of late against the Timberwolves, entering this weekend's matchup having won four straight matchups.

Softball is back on the road for the second weekend of action in their 2024 season. The team will travel to Victoria, B.C., where they will take on three opponents over six games, including the Victoria Vikes, the Saskatchewan Huskies and the Calgary Dinos.

This group has had an impressive 3-1-1 start to the year led by Taryn Lamb of Kelowna, B.C., with 5 RBI's so far and Sheyanne Lawrence's (Kelowna, B.C.) two home runs. Lawrence and Taylor McRae of Vancouver, Wash., have been leading the way on the mound, posting 11 and nine strikeouts respectively. This strong group looks to leave an impression on the coast this weekend in their continued defence of their 2024 Western Canadian Softball Association championship.
