Following a third-place finish at the Stewart Cup, the Heat will be ranked ninth heading into the 2024 Canada West Championship in Alberta

KELOWNA, B.C. – The UBC Okanagan Heat women's cross country team have been ranked among the nation's best programs as U SPORTS announced the Top 10 rankings on Tuesday morning.

The Heat enter the Top 10 for the first time this season after they grabbed a third place finish at the Stewart Cup in Calgary. Lauren McNeil of Buxton, England ran to a first-place finish at the event while two other members of the Heat, Kristen Smith of Georgetown, Ont., and Brooke Lawlor of Vernon, B.C., finished inside the Top 15.

UBCO will now set their attention to the 2024 Canada West Championships, which are set to be hosted by the Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas, on Saturday, October 26 in Camrose, Alta. The Heat will be looking to build upon their fifth-place finish from a season ago.

The Heat will then welcome the best cross country runners from across the country as they host the 2024 U SPORTS Championships at Mission Recreation Park on Saturday, November 9.
